Node Operator
Introduction
The CROSS network consists of Consensus Nodes (CN), Proxy Nodes (PN), and Endpoint Nodes (EN).
- CN: Proposes new blocks and creates blocks by consensus.
- PN: Relays transactions between CN and EN.
- EN: A node that can be operated by anyone, and can access the CROSS network by operating a public RPC endpoint URL or EN node.
Architecture

CNs and PNs are owned by the OpengameFoundation (OFG), the CROSS Foundation, and can be operated by third parties on behalf of OFG in accordance with Foundation policy.
ENs can be operated by anyone in the world, and they maintain peer status with BootNodes.
This chapter provides information on how to install and operate an EN, how to access the CROSS network, and how to use it.
